2 Libraries for Children and Young Adults Section
The Section's major purpose is to support the provision of the library service and reading promotion to children and young adults throughout the world. Sektionens vigtigste formål er at støtte tilvejebringelsen af biblioteksservice og læsefremmende initiativer til børn og unge i hele verden.

3 Section: Children & Young adults
. Danmarks Biblioteksforening. Valgt ind for en 4 årig periode. Årlig konference + midyear meeting. Baggrund for mit valg: Erfaring fra ”Child in the City”. Harry Potter festival. Masterforløb i børne- og ungdomskultur. 30 års erfaring.

5 Arbejdsopgaver De forrige projekter, som sektionen har arbejdet med, handlede om at udarbejde en guideline for gode billedbøger samt om biblioteksveje, til at hjælpe børn og unge ud af analfabetisme og understøtte læsning bredt. Vores komite har lige fået ny formand. Vi afventer udspil omkring det fremtidige arbejde. Et af forslagene som der arbejdes med er ”Best Practices” for biblioteksarbejdet med børn og unge. The purpose of the project Collecting an online collection of best practices to IFLA website. Focusing on events on promoting literacy and reading for children and young adults. ”Best practices” et rimeligt bredt emne, som kan indeholde mange aspekter. Jeg meldte mig til arbejdet i denne gruppe med et håb, om at kunne være med til at give inspiration til danske biblioteker omkring internationale projekter og inspiration generelt.

6 Project – Best Practices.
The aim of the project is to have an online collection of Best Practices of library work with children and young adults. They may be events, reading promotion and campaigns, partnerships, innovative use of library spaces or outreaches. The main objective is that librarians and other people working with children and young adults all over the world can benefit from the experiences of their colleagues and share their knowhow.
