Cut cylinders and cones – Standard Grade If you are sitting an SQA Credit paper in Graphic Communication, you will be required to know how to draw cut cones and cut cylinders. A cut cone drawing or a cut cylinder drawing has been included in the Credit exam final paper each year since 1991. The table on the following slide shows when each type of drawing was used and how many marks were allocated to it. You will need to know how to draw the Front Elevation, the End Elevation, the Plan and the Surface Development, for both cylinders and cones. The ability to be able to answer questions about cylinders and cones will be a great help in letting you reach the pass mark in the Credit exam paper.
