Background 1800 working related hearing diseases are registrated each year.(Arbejdsmiljøviden.dk) http://www.arbejdsmiljoviden.dk/Viden-om-arbejdsmiljoe/Stoej Noise in the workspace can categorized into 3 groups : Very loud noise: Can be a more or less constant sound level, which comes from machines in factories etc. Disturbing noise: This type of noise is not directly harmful. It can, however, play a part of an unsuitable and stressful working environment. You can find this type in institutions where there is a lot of people. Typical in public institutions with large groups of people. Impulsive noise: This is a sudden very load sound, which can come from shooting. Impulsive noise can led to physical hearing injury.

How many and who are affected by noise in the daycare centers? In a comprehensive study by the National Work Environment (NAK), for 2005, the figures show: "Around 80 per cent. of the staff at the daycare centers are exposed to loud noise at work in ¼-part of the working day, while 25 per cent. of those exposed to noise harmful to hearing through ¼-part of the workday. Around 75 per cent. of primary school teachers are exposed to loud noise for at least ¼ of the working day, 51 per cent. of them for disturbing noise for at least ¼ of the working day and 14 per cent. for noise harmful to hearing at least ¼ of the working day. Study of 3.P’s noiseyesno Do you expirience noise on your education center? 204 Do you feel botthered/disturbed by it? 12 Do you feel it effects learningability? 168 Do you feel it effects your motivation? 1014 Do you feel it effects on your engagement? 1311 Would you be willing to prevent this problem? 195 Do you feel fatigue or headaches after a day of a lot of noise? 177 Positivity(%)Negativity(%) Average 15,3=63,758,7=36,25 What do the students say ? We have made a small quantitative study, based on our own class. The study is based on 24 people's statements and how they experience the noise of everyday life, and how to tackle it.
7
Project delimitations We will approach the problem from an environmental point of view, more accurately the work environment in the public sector here Education & other communal areas, where groups of people are staying at the time.
8
Problem statement We will prevent noise on education institutions and workplaces’ by developing an alarm system that makes people aware of the noise level and prevent it from rising.
9
Technical Delimitations We will set the following demands to the future product: A quantitative survey about the problem(if there is a problem), but most importantly, if people wants to do something about it. Create attention to the sound level. Prevent people from increasing the sound level. The product must be innovative. A user manual to the product must be developed.

Product description Our product consists of a central unit that contains a microphone to record the sound level in a room. When the sound level exceeds a certain level, our product will respond in a wider range of ways. It will emit a bright light, which should be very visible. It will play a short constant tone that will catch people's attention and stop them in their flow of speech. It will make a combination of the two functions, so when the sound level is too high, it will both emit a bright light and play a tone.

Technological evaluation Technological evaluation as a overall assessment of the noise device to the working environment report. The environmental impact of the technology. Benefits. Disadvantages. What do the study shows? Outsourcing.
15
Technology analysis The technological analysis is based on 4 points: Knowledge Engineering Organization Product
16
Evaluation and Conclusion Conclusion: ” We will prevent noise on educational institutions and workplaces, by developing an alarm system which creates attention to the sound level and preventing it from increasing.” We can conclude that we haven't managed to complete development of our alarm system. We haven't had access to the required help we needed to complete this. We haven't worked with programming or electronics on this level before, which had slowed down the process, and in the end, stopped it completely. Evaluation: The project work has gone by schedule until the last 2 weeks of the course. From that point we haven't been able to move on, partly because we needed guidance on the programming for our product, and partly because electronics was very new to us. We haven't finished our product, because of lacking knowledge and guidance.
